Younique By Nichole and #BeTheGood

I was recently challenged by Cents of Style and Jane to take part in the #BeTheGood campaign. My life long friends Courtney Brown and Brenann Lau, the brains behind Cents of Style, have been such an inspiration and example of empowering women so I knew I had to take part.

I know that so much joy can come from helping, inspiring and encouraging others and I am thrilled to take part in this campaign! To me, part of "Being the Good" means doing something, big or small, that helps and uplifts another.  It can be big, such as teaching and training someone a new skill that empowers them to change their life by finding a new career, or something simple, like paying for someone's coffee.

I challenge all of you to take a part in this movement and spread goodness throughout!  Good luck my friends... you have 24hrs to complete a service or act of kindness. See below for details:

1. Choose a good deed. It could be as simple as paying for the coffee after yours.

2. Share your goods. Pick your favorite social channel (Facebook, Instagram, Vine, Twitter, etc.), but first, make sure to take a selfie (or something appropriate to your story), and share your story, big or small. Be sure to use these hashtags to help this campaign spread: #BeTheGood #JaneCares and #CentsofStyle. You’ll see your story featured at http://Jane.com/bethegood

3. Tag 1-5 of your friends to do the same within a 24 hr period.

4. Look stylish while doing it! Jane.com and Cents of Style are selling some super cute #BeTheGood t-shirts on Jane.com. All profits made will be donated to Girls Inc. an organization that inspires girls to be strong, smart and bold.

Younique by Nichole's #BeTheGood

Today my family decided to #BeTheGood by heading out to a truck stop in the hills of Fairbanks, Alaska.  This place is famous for it's amazing pie and we figured that this might be a great place to help make others smile. Shortly after our arrival we learned that the Pioneer Home, an assisted living facility, had planned a trip there for lunch.  Perfect! I chatted with my husband and we decided that our Good for the day would be to purchase slices of pie for the elderly ladies and gentlemen who were on their way.

We left before the group learned about their free pie but one of my favorite parts of this trip was talking with our waitress.  Once we told her of our plans she told us story after story of the random acts of kindness that she had been benefited from over the years.  It was nice to see how easily people remember the kinds acts that others do for them.  I also could tell that our act today brightened her day and mood.  I am excited to see what other acts we can come up with for the week and I plan to let you all know about them, as they come!
Your turn! How do you plan to Be The Good? Remember to get your shirt as all profits benefit Girls Inc.

  1. I... need... that... pie! Maybe it was something in the pie that convinced you to visit the assisted living center, or maybe it was the shirt you were wearing, but it sounds like you had an awesome time with the family doing good. What a great lesson to your kids! Thanks for joining the campaign! We appreciate your support!
